I’ve recently been branching out and trying new mascara’s. As you know, I’m pretty faithful to my MAC products and that hasn’t changed. I first tried MAC’s Zoom Fast Black Lash. I liked it. Can’t say I loved it, but it got the job done. It does have a carbon black pigment in it, which I liked. But I also felt like it didn’t last very long. I was in need of a new tube quicker than I had hoped. Then I switched to using the Opulash Optimum Black, that’s what I use now and I love it. I’m really picky about my mascara wands. I prefer a thicker brush, and by the photos above you can clearly see the difference in the two. It lasts all day (15 hours to be exact) and lengthens them pretty well. It’s supposed to give more expansion and curl. I’m the type of person who puts it on pretty thick and this mascara makes it much easier to do so.
Both of these mascaras can be found at MAC for $15.00 each
I remember when I was too afraid to rock a red lip. Now I barely go without. One of my favorite combinations for anyone who’s interested:
- MAC’s “Burgundy” lip pencil
- MAC’s Pro Longwear “Prolong” lipcreme
- MAC’s “Love Alert” Dazzleglass
About a week ago I bought the MAC Pro Longwear Foundation and I promised a quick review. I am so glad that I bought it. I was skeptical at first because I was sure that it would just make my face even oilier than it is and I’d have wasted $40. But that wasn’t the case at all. I put it on before work everyday around 9 AM. Most nights I go out after work so I’m not getting home until around midnight or after and I barely need to touch it up! My lovely lady at my local MAC store told me that these typically run dark, so your color might actually be lighter than you think. Make sure you try a couple until you find your match.
All you need is 2 squirts (I use more like 1 and a half) and apply evenly with a brush, not a sponge. Brushes give the best results! I was told to use brush #130 and I recommend it to the fullest, but if not any similar brush will do
After you’ve applied it evenly, set it with a powder. No need for a thick coat, just a light sweep over the face. I use MAC’s Mineralize Skinfinnish Natural
And after that you’re done! It works wonders. My skin is naturally oily, those who can relate know that no matter what you’ll probably have to use blot powder at least once a day. But it definitely lives up to it’s name, because it lasts a very long time. They’re made to last 15 hours! I took a 3 hour nap today, face rolled all over my pillow and it still looks great lol. Definitely recommend!! So far I love the Pro LongWear Collection. I’ve got the foundation, I have the lipcreme (will do a review on that if you like) that I absolutely adore, all that’s next to try is the concealer!
So I’ve got a thing for brows. In my opinion if your brows aren’t cleaned up then don’t bother putting on any shadow because it ends up looking messy. I’m not saying they have to be super arched, but at least give them a few good tweezes and plucks to keep them looking nice. To take it a step further, I use Benefit's Brow-zings. It comes in light, medium and dark. It’s basically your own mini brow-shaping kit that comes with an angle brush, a blending brush, tweezers, wax, and setting powder. The greatest thing that will ever happen to your brows. It even won Allure’s 2008 Best of Beauty Awards - “Best brow product”. I get my brows waxed, and use this kit to enhance them that much further. Very simple to apply and it even comes with a little booklet which gives you a quick lesson in how to apply it correctly. I use this along with MAC’s Dipdown Fluidline to draw them exactly how I like them. The transformation is mind blowing, trust me.
You can find Benefit products at Ulta, Sephora, and of course any Benefit counter. It’s definitely worth the $30 and it lasts ridiculously long. I’ve been using this product since ‘09 and have only bought 2 this entire time…and I use this every single day…yea…lasts a while lol
